In September 2005, the ITV network celebrated its fiftieth anniversary with a season of ITV 50 programming that aired. One of them was a seven-week special celebrating classic UK TV game shows, it was called Gameshow Marathon presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, better known as Ant & Dec. Like its American counterpart, this series had Family Feud (called Family Fortunes in England) be the last game to be played.
In this, the final Gameshow Marathon episode, finalists Carol Vorderman and Vernon Kay along with their families respectively, competed to score 300 points first to win the game just like the civilian version.
As it has been the case throughout the tournament, all prizes won by the celebrities were being placed on offer to a lucky home viewer.
