This episode was the pilot episode for the show (the one that the producers show to networks to put the show on the air). Features the Madvigs against the Speirs. Hosted by Richard Dawson and announced by Johnny Olson.
You'll see some obvious differences from this pilot and the series. But here are other differences you may not know about:
The team captains or heads of families always play the Face-Off rounds compared to having different players each time. This practice would become in use for 1994 Bankroll games, except it was not always restricted to team captains.
There were no "Double" or "Triple" value rounds.
On a successful steal, the family that stole the round not only won the bank, but also scored the correct answer's value. That practice would become in use from 1992-1995.
